When you think of latex, you probably think of rubber gloves. However, latex is used to make many other products, including some Simple-Pedic™ luxury mattresses. To understand why Natural Latex Foam is the best foam available for a mattress, you need to know a little more about Latex.

Latex, sometimes referred to as Pincore, is a blend of natural (70%) and synthetic (30%) components. The highest quality Latex is manufactured using the Talalay process. This creates optimal comfort, resilience and durability.

In addition, Latex is naturally anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and resists dust mites. Made with thousands of tiny air channels that create natural ventilation, the mattress provides more breath-ability. You stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

The density of our 100% latex mattress is 3.0. The mattress has a 20-year No-Nonsense Warranty. By combining a 3" latex top with a 3" H.R. foam bottom, the firmness can be increased and the cost can be lowered. Contact a Team Member for help designing your mattress.

How Is A Natural Latex Mattress Made?

Latex is a milky fluid derived from the rubber tree. Natural latex is extracted from the tropical rubber tree in a method that is similar to tapping a maple tree for syrup.

Natural (70%) and synthetic (30%) latexes, soaps and rubber-curing agents are precisely mixed in a temperature-controlled environment. After the compound is transferred to the pressroom, it's whipped into a frothy liquid form. At this point, it has the consistency of soft-serve ice cream.

Next, a robotic arm injects the foamed liquid latex into an aluminum pin core mold. The pins create our unique, aerated cell structure, thus giving it the industry name "pincore."

Natural Latex Foam Quality

Not all natural latex foam is created equal.

Various curing agents, soaps and proteins used during the development process can cause early degradation and shorter product life span. That's why Simple-Pedic™ Natural Latex Foam has an additional, carefully orchestrated cleaning process.

The Natural Latex Foam is washed during a five-stage, one-a-kind, fresh-water rinsing. Five layers of self-cleaning water jets wash away residual soaps, curing agents and proteins.

Between each jet layer, the latex foam is squeezed to less than four percent of its total thickness. This removes any lingering residual materials from deep within the mattress.

Featured at Simple-Pedic™, this vital cleansing process improves durability and comfort by removing residual soaps, curing agents and proteins. This results in a longer life span for your mattress.
